Film Scorer & Composer
Jacob Lessard graduated from McGill University’s music faculty program with a concentration in classical violin performance. A multi-instrumentalist, he can play any instrument you throw at him.
Jacob composes music for short films, documentaries and podcasts. He enjoys the challenge of drawing out the emotional and dramatic features from a scene to create a distinctive musical landscape.
He is currently working at Gelfmusic studios, for composers James Gelfand and Louise Tremblay. He has learned the ins and outs of the industry, assisting on over 30 films and television shows.
Otherwise you will find Jacob listening to Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 in his Montreal studio in The Plateau. Inspired by the classics, he also draws from his love of Radiohead, Bill Evans and Klezmer.
He is available for freelance composition – contact him to collaborate.
